![]() Visit a driver and vehicle office to obtain an appeal package and form within 45 days after receiving the notice of suspension.Demerit points may be reduced once in a two-year period i f a driver successfully completes an approved driver improvement course (not offered through the GNWT).If the driver accumulates 15 demerit points a second time, the driver’s licence will be suspended for a minimum of 30 days to a maximum period of two years. ![]() If the driver fails to attend the interview, the driver’s licence will be suspended until an interview is held. ![]() The letter will identify the steps necessary to arrange a telephone or personal interview. No restrictions are placed on the licence. This upgrade does not occur automatically and requires a visit to a driver and vehicle office. Once the driver has met the 12 month period suspension-free, they are eligible to upgrade their licence to a full Class 5P or 5 licence.At the end of the suspension, the number of points on the driver’s record is reduced. The driver’s licence is suspended for a period of 30 days and until a re-instatement fee has been paid.Demerit points are recorded on a driver’s record upon the Registrar becoming aware of the offence and will remain for 24 months.
